As smoking is a fatal to your health and causes many changes to occur in the body of a human being. What happens when you quit smoking is quite amazing! Within 30 minutes the pulse rate slows down and the blood pressure starts moving towards the normal rate, which due to the intake of cigarette smoke is raised in comparison to the normal level.

What happens when you quit smoking is that while time passes, the carbon monoxide (a deadly gas) stored in the blood and lungs starts to decrease at an increased rate which causes the color of blood to recover its original color which is dark red.

Due to the dangerous cigarette smoke the color becomes light and it transports less oxygen (an important gas for living) to the body. Quitting smoking causes the blood to carry the normal amount of oxygen to the body which causes all the body parts to start working normally and in the true order.

What happens when you quit smoking is also connected to the oxygen in your blood that is being taken to the body.

Did you ever wonder what happens when you quit smoking and several days have gone by? After the time period of 48 hours the nerve endings starts to recover including the nerve cells in the brain, lungs, and liver of the human body.

The organs mentioned play an important role in making the human body work in the proper manner. Cigarettes contains dangerous and fatal to life chemicals which even effects the sense of smell and taste, after a time span of 72 hours they start to come working correctly again and a change is visible in the cigarette infected person.

But exactly what happens when you quit smoking for almost a year? The risk of heart attacks and other cardiac disease which are caused by the smoking starts to decrease and within 2 years the risk of heart attack completely diminishes.

Also, what happens when you quit smoking for 10 years? After this period, the risk of cancer and other interrelated diseases is about the same as for a non-smoker and a non affected human being. Similarly, the risk of stomach ulcers and severe coughing; which causes the thin protective lining of the lungs to start to decrease, they will begin working right again.

The anti bodies, in other words the white blood cells of the body, start to increase in the body and they cause the disease causing particles to vanish. This in turn starts the body to recover from the irregularity.

As a summary of what happens when you quit smoking, many changes which are brought by the life decreasing, cigarette smoking, are lessened to a valuable amount and the human body starts to work the way it should. As a known poet has said, “it is not always the changes in nature that cause living beings to move towards death, instead most of the problems are caused by the human being himself”.
